pardon the cliche title ya? i just couldn't think of anything better. =/
met up with tingting today! finally after such a longgggg time! the last time i saw her was probably when i went to nus to support her in her stage production, 'black comedy' and that was like in february! think the last time we shopped together was like before chinese new year.
wanted to have either a good lunch or dinner today so since i had to teach tuition at night, we decided to settle for a good lunch brunch, and following ting's suggestion, we entered this lovely eatery, Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery (again!) and for a moment i thought i'm standing in one of those European cafes or cottages! ^^
the interiors of the whole place just makes me feel warm and fuzzy! the brick-lined walls, the dim light and wooden panels, comfy armchairs and flowers in vases! i love how they had their menus in bright colours against the blackboards on the walls, brightens everything up! and oh, you can choose to look at the menus via the ipads positioned at the counter too.

as usual, we camwhored while waiting for our food to kill time but actually there wasn't the need to cos the food was before us after merely a few shots.![]() | ![]() |
anyway, i ordered Tunisian (on the left) which is a pan of savory tomato stew with a tinge of spiciness, with sliced pork sausages in it and two fried eggs on top. ting had European (on the right) which is made up of eggs benedict wrapped in raw bacon we assumed Italian prosciutto (ok fine, i did peep at the menu at their website), and sauteed mushrooms on bread.
their bread was like woah btw! i love how it's crispy on the outside and yet so soft and fluffy when i pull it apart to dip in my stew!! oh it felt like the 'roti dip in curry' experience btw! loved my order but i felt the salad of chopped tomatoes and cucumber was a lil plain.
and does ting like her order? her face tells it all. (:
both Tunisian and European cost $18 each and are the signatures of Wild Honey. they have received rave reviews from magazines and bloggers so we knew we can't go wrong with these dishes. definitely want to go back there again but i'll probably be more adventurous next time and ooh maybe something sweet and chewy to satisfy my sweet tooth... like waffles! :P

(:
okay before i risk turning my blog into a food blog,
so we went shopping after that.. and far east plaza is really becoming a boring place!! well, at least for me. this is the second time i've been to far east this month already and again i walked out of the mall without a single purchase. ): ting managed to buy 2 skirts but that's probably because she was motivated to get herself at least 2 new skirts cos i kept complaining how she always wears the same combi every time she goes out with me: tank top + shorts + cardi. at my pleas she wore a skirt out today but if i hadn't said anything, she would really have worn the same old combi!
went back to ion orchard to walk walk after that and sadly still unable to get myself anything. i'm actually kinda impressed with myself. i really think i'm no longer as impulsive as before when it comes to clothes. but still, having brought extra money out on purpose but being unable to use it is still a little disappointing. ): anyway, i used to adore spring collections but the recent new pieces displayed in shops either seem too 'old' or cliche. well, it's probably just me.
anyway, i was sad that our outing had to end so soon as i had to rush back to pasir ris early to prepare for my student but someone else probably felt thankful for it haha! ;)
p/s: my blog is really irritatingly becoming more and more essay-like!! whywhywhy?? どうして?! =/
