logical or not?

date: Tuesday, September 13, 2011

i think my 笑点 really very 低.

i kept laughing at my econs lecturer's words today when logically speaking there wasn't anything really funny about them at all.

i think i'm the funny one here.

or maybe i just happened to be in too good a mood.

amanda couldn't get my laughter and commented that i shouldn't laugh so easily. if not next time when i have a boyfriend, he's gonna think very highly of himself.

good point made.

but then again, is it better to have a girlfriend who laughs a lot, or a girlfriend who cries a lot?

obviously a girlfriend who laughs a lot right?

okay but maybe not too much.

anyway, i probably laughed too much during today's lecture because karma happened. i sank into depression during the later part of the lecture.

i saw lightning flash against a dark and cloudy sky in my mind and then the word 'DESPAIR' suddenly appeared with a loud boom, accompanied by rounds of thunder. before i knew it, the sky had crumbled and i could literally feel its weight on me.

it felt like that.

reason being i couldn't follow the lecture at all. when i finally figured out how to calculate the respective prices for comparative advantage, my lecturer had moved on to marginal utility. and just when i was recalling marginal utility, he had started on the exercises.

i could barely catch up and everything was getting mathematical with all the equations. everyone around seemed to be able to interpret the graph easily and form the equations quickly but i'm just like... stumped.

i was so frustrated with myself that at one point of time that i almost did not feel like copying the lecturer's answers anymore because really, what's the point of copying when you don't understand a single thing? i felt like i was just copying for the sake of copying and i didn't like that at all. it's really the first time that i did not want to copy down any notes since the start of DE lectures. but in order to be the guai kia that i had promised myself to be, i copied them down eventually.

everyone around me seems to be better at math and calculations. i really enjoy reading and writing much more so i like IBM a lot. i know i need to do something about my weakness but you don't just have your math improved overnight. words can be memorised easily but numbers require practice, practice and more practice!

if only comparative advantage can work in this way - i specialise in writing, and the others just specialise in calculating, we trade our work then we can enjoy more units of both areas and have the best of both worlds! and furthermore at a lower opportunity cost! yay! \\^o^//

how wonderful the world will be ya? (:

but alas, theories are forever meant to be theories. ):

p/s: i think i have a strong affinity with insects recently, not that i welcome it of cos. today on my way home, i saw this mini bee (i insist it's a bee!) fluttering against the window of the bus that i was on! i was so freaked out that i alighted one stop earlier. since we have all acknowledged that i'm a scaredy cat when it comes to insects i shall no longer be bothered by your reactions hmph!
