to be frank, there's nothing to blog about.

the day started off as a nerve-wrecking one cos i was really nervous. but writing stuff while i'm on the mrt train managed to soothe my nerves.

but anxiety took over once again when i reached GE campus which is the designated venue for the DE orientation.

i was there too early. like too early. i reached 40 minutes earlier than the stated meeting time (surprise surprise, xiu zhen the early bird). so there was nothing i could do but to walk around to see see the place. thankfully i could sms kathy mam which helped in calming me down a little cos i don't feel that alone. but i started freaking out again when i saw several girls in cliques and they looked like foreigners. well, it's expected because the international students would have seen each other around SIM earlier due to some cultural-sharing session and plus they all have to stay at the campus so they would definitely be closer to one another.

boy i felt really small then.

i did see a few wanderers though. yes, people who were just wandering around the place like me. and i assume they are singaporeans. because i know if i were to stay at the campus, i wouldn't have a reason to come down so early. and i would have approached them if they weren't guys. =/

boy i felt really lonely then.

so imagine my relief when i saw some people that i do know - xiao hui and amanda. they are my schoolmates and both of them happened to be in option B of the programme like me! and later on their friend, chelsie and my friend, jia qi (both of which are from tpjc too, they are in option A) came too so the five of us stayed together as a clique throughout the whole orientation and i was no longer alone. (:

so on to the orientation. the registration part alr gave me a bad impression of the orientation because the way they did it was really disorganised. until like around 9.40am some students were still queueing up to register. i mean, shouldn't there have been a time limit for it?

moreover, we weren't split into groups at the start which made it really difficult to break up the little cliques to initiate interaction.

we had to listen to this guy who really talked a lot (about unnecessary stuff) and played a few lame games here and there with lunch in between, and then at 2 plus we were given a debrief which signified the end of the orientation when the whole event was supposed to be until 6pm. i guess they finally ran out of games in the end (we went through some claps and cheers and even played 7-up -.-). some time was allocated at the end to fill up an evaluation form which confirmed my belief that the facilitators were from an external agency. it was ridiculous that there were only 6 of them to facilitate like 262 of us?

even though it was the rain's fault to begin with, the very least they could have done was to prepare some GOOD indoor games, if not a wet weather plan. i seriously thought i could come up with better games luh. the space constraint of the venue was also a significant factor as to why the orientation was an epicfail. i don't even think they viewed the whole event to be of any importance actually.
