first day of school!

so i had my first IBM lecture today!
and boy i had the shock of the day! :O
we received a stack of notes worth 1231 pages and that's not even all that we are going to receive this year!
this had the whole LT buzzing seriously.
and we had to bring the whole chunk home rahh!
anyway, i don't think this will be a module that i'll come to hate. the concepts and theories that i have learnt so far have been interesting and very... human.
the catch to this module is that there's a lot of reading, writing, and memory work (there's a lot of names to be remembered! like who said this, who said that.. and like one concept has been interpreted by many people!) to be done which i have to say it's a lot better than asking me to do calculations.
plus the lecturer is another funny man! i like how he's so straightforward, and sometimes to the extent of being sarcastic (not in too bad a way though). anyway, this was what he said during lecture when we were talking about decision-making being the work of a manager (Henry Mintzberg) (no, i didn't look at my notes when i type out the name):
"You've made a good choice by coming to UOL. It's a good degree."
and immediately after this he dropped the bomb:
"But enjoy the suffering."
like what??? hahaha!
anyway, he is known to be a good lecturer among those who have been taught by him so we are in safe hands i guess. and i'm glad he's also our tutor for IBM. (:
had lunch together with Jia Qi after lecture at Clementi Mall's Swensen's. ordered a Mac and Cheese and because with every main course comes with a complimentary side order or ice cream, we ordered mozarella cheese sticks (really good!) and sticky chewy chocolate to share! sinful much! but oh well it's to celebrate the first day of school so why not? ^^
