i didn't post up the song lyrics below for no reason.
I'm always waiting on something
Other than this
Why am I feeling like there's something I missed?
slacked the whole day at home just watching drama, playing fb games, eating. okay, i think did one activity that's considered redeeming i guess,

i read a book.

i've finished the drama, 'Lie To Me' starring Yoon Eun Hye already. i guess the plot could be stronger but the whole drama is sweeeeeet nonetheless. if you watch it without having high expectation, i'm sure you will enjoy this lighthearted drama like i did. well, come to think of it isn't all lighthearted either. there were bits hear and there in the drama which made me cry. );

and i've finished this book, Big Girl by Danielle Steel. it totally bored me. didn't quite like the writing style. i kept putting down this book again and again but i persisted in finishing it till the end cos i was hoping something really good would happen for the female lead but when i reached the last page i was like, "har, just like that arh?" disappointing. ): nevertheless, reading it was like going through a therapy session. at least i could feel the female lead though. and i saw some light after reading it. just some. (:

am currently reading this book, 'the Dreamseller: the calling' by Augusto Cury. first saw it in Kinokuniya when i went there to buy SJM Play magazine but didn't purchase it then cos i felt it was a lil ex, $27+. went back to Kinokuniya the next time but i couldn't find the book and didn't want to bother the sales assistants there so was a little upset. that was when i realised i really wanted to read the book after all. bought it together with liangying in the end when we were at Times last Sunday. i've just finished 27 pages of the book and just as i thought, the book is pretty inspiring, and i think it would perhaps inspire me more if i can get the cheem parts too. it's just as what liangying had predicted at the bookstore,
"Think it will be a cheem book."
but since i'm highly intellectual (i hope), i think i'll be able to finish it smoothly luh huh. the book's a pretty interesting read so far. (:

speaking of which, last Sunday saw your two newbies at exploration at Kampong Buangkok. at my insistence, liang agreed to go there with me. it was pretty easy to find the place but i left the place sadly wishing the trip had been more rewarding. the Kampong was smaller than we thought and the doors were mostly closed as opposed to the usual things that I heard. and it was really quiet. i had expected it to be a little more buzzing actually. and there's a lack of friendliness in the air but maybe not to strangers i guess. i managed to have taken a few shots of the exteriors but i would have really loved to go into one of the houses to take a look. if only i had the guts to ask. liang is really not a stranger-friendly person and in fact she was really uncomfortable throughout the whole time there cos she felt as if we were intruding other people's privacy.

still. sighs.

the only pleasant thing that happened there was that we found this handmade swing by by chance. i was taking some pictures of it and hoping i could have a go at it when this nice uncle appeared from behind the tree and invited us to sit on it. i immediately went forward while liang followed cautiously behind me. he was really welcoming and i was initially wary about the swing as i was afraid it wouldn't be able to tahan my weight. but it did. and the uncle was so nice as to give the swing a few pushes. exchanged a few sentences with him and got to know that he lived there. was not too sure if he meant in the Kampong or at the tree (which is outside of the Kampong). and from what we observed, i think he collects and sells scrap metals for a living. finally persuaded liang to have a go at the swing too. we camwhored a while and expressed our gratitude to the nice uncle.

was walking towards the direction of the bus stop when liang was looking intently at the park connector's directory. got the feeling of trouble brewing and true enough she was like, "shall we walk?" and i looked at her with the are-you-mad expression. true, the exploration ended too early and we had nothing else planned but seriously, to walk under the scorching sun?! i don't know what made me agree. i guess because i had the feeling that she really sincerely truly wanted to walk and so we did. i think i did regret halfway but there wasn't much else we could do than to keep walking until we find an exit. and honestly speaking, liang, those yellow 1.6km, 1.2km, 800m markings on the ground weren't that motivating actually.

i think i literally went insane with all that heat and walking and my hunger (i haven't eaten anything since i woke up and it was near 3pm by then)! we walked past Punggol Reservoir and after about 3km i guess, we reached this Seng Kang Riverside park which didn't even look like a park cos there was nothing in sight. i started doing crazy poses which depicted obvious signs of despair. liang wanted to find the Marina boat club place that we saw on the directory. and i'm glad that i didn't go along with her this time. i wouldn't mind if we could find a bicycle rental but nope we didn't and i was really hungry. thankfully i recognised that the park appeared to be somewhere near my ex-tutee's place and i was right. we saw Compass Point a distance away from us and started heading for it before i die from starvation.

had lunch at Mos Burger and headed to Tampines after that to collect my new spectacles. decided to go back to full frames again cos half frame is like not here not there. the problem is this time round i chose a metallic frame cos it's cheaper but meant that i have to take good care of it if i want the coating to last well. and my degree has increased again. left side is now a freaking 300 while right side is 150. both actually went up by 25. but for my left to be 300! 300! *covers face with hands*

anyway, that Sunday turned out to be a pretty ironic one because the trip to Kampong was supposed to be about understanding and appreciating the simple way of life. we ended up doing a whole different thing which included spending on books and worse still, a shirt from Mango.

whatever happened to our determination to save, liang?

this will not happen, shall not happen again ya? not at least until after this month.

p/s: will post up the photos of the trip soon. think i owe a lot of photos from previous events like hiking with liang and cakey trip with liying. but photo blog on blogger doesn't seem to be a good idea cos it takes up the whole blog page. not unless i found a way to put the photos side by side. =/
