long day (part one)

and i thought that day (2 june) was a long day already.
today (4 june) was even a longer day! i spent more than 16 hours outside today!
woke up early this morning (only 4 hours of sleep!) as it was MIM Concert and the meeting time for admin staff was 8.15am at tanjong pagar mrt though. still, i didn't make it on time as i was waiting for marica at simei station.
like last year's dec's christmas prom concert (i still can't believe it's been 6 months alr!), i am in charge of filming of the concert and again, i am not too sure whether i did a good job! oh and this year i felt less lonely cos ying hui was down for photography duty at the same area as me! (2nd level). also, it felt really great to greet a lot of staff and teachers this morning! last year's dec, the only people i know in seimpi was just jessie, karen, allison and some of the teachers! i felt so out of place like im the odd one out. today felt really different.
i can't really comment about the overall performance of the concert cos i was too concentrated on the filming so i couldn't really 'watch' the whole show. plus, i was busy trying to squeeze out the time to write the personal thank-you cards for the Management to go with the boxes famous amos cookies that me and ying hui had chipped in together.
had a lunch gathering at FN after the whole concert (a treat from the directors!) and flora organised a whole sharing session and it felt kind of warmly you know? like we are not just colleagues but more importantly, people, real people interacting and getting to know one another instead of just all smiles and courtesies. was surprised by the Management's token of appreciation though. thankfully ying hui (another a-level staff like me in HG who is also leaving) came for the concert or i would be so awkward receiving the token by myself! and we in turn gave our thank-you gifts to them personally too. oh and yes! we took photos with them using ying hui's camera! once she tags me on fb i'll post up here too! (:
it's funny how ying hui and i became quite close even though this is only the second time we've seen each other face-to-face. i think it's because we have quite a lot in common - same age, post a-level students.. and we chatted quite a lot over the phone during work haha!
had received a lot of love from my colleagues recently too! fiona bought me cream puffs the other day as a treat, and jasmin randomly bought me soya milk the other day when she was dropping by to collect her stuff. it makes me feel so 感动 when some teachers ask me not to leave. )': when i first started this job, i never really thought it would be possible to make friends since all of them are older than me. but, i did! 6 months i realised, no doubt short, was enough to build good rapport with them and i feel sad to leave too. but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do and the decision has been made. but i'll really need to thank them properly before i leave. shall use these 3 off days to think carefully. and i'm pretty sure 12 june will not be the last time i see them. (:
