anyway, we celebrated the birthdays of liangying and derek just now and oh boy come to think of it i went through so much before today!

the time and the effort and the mental battle against the fear that today will totally fail~

but the day really turned out better than i thought, there were good reviews from the peeps, dunno out of gratitude or courtesy but i shall just remain naive and take it that they are signs of success! (:

maevey offered a bbq session at her house for the celebration event and so i agreed to the idea!

and then the planning started off!

liangying and i have once said before that if we ever become a korean celebrity (highly doubt so) or were borne one, we would have wanted to attend Running Man, a korean variety show, sort of like Amazing Race but even better, because the show's really fun and chaemiseo!

so i thot since i can't bring her to Running Man, then why not bring 'Running Man' to her!

and so the planning started of, and on this note, i must really thank Joelin for bearing my temper when i become impatient and also for her constant support and her BIG BIG help in planning and preparing the materials! she really kept me in check because work was occupying me a lot and i tend to become lax and want to put things off until she keeps pushing and nagging me. (i'm so going to ask her to read my blog since this kind of thank-you words are not easy to be said out loud. i shy haha!)

thankfully our 2 main leads were very spontaneous and enthusiastic and of cos everyone's coordination and willingness to participate and coorperate as well! basically it's a race mission (Running Man concept) the 2 main leads have to compete with each other to find the most number of the guests (us!) on the train! and since today (yesterday, 01052011) is a public holiday, labour day, there were really a lot of people on the train! and we were so horrible to them cos we tricked them a few times hehe! but liang was really quick and sharp! i can't say so much about derek the noob haha.

so here was the route:

pasir ris --- tanah merah (we alighted because the silly leads were still at pasir ris station and did not board the train) --- aljunied (alighted cos we wanted to trick them by escaping, they went on to lavender and then detoured back and we boarded on) --- tanah merah

finally alighted and move on to maevey's condo. only to send the birthday leads out, with a friend each to accompany with to get some items from a nearby marketplace less than ten minutes since they settled down haha! =p

started bbqing when they are back and many thanks to kok kiong, pinyi, and dominic for starting, manning and taming the fire and being the awesome chefs! :D

went on to playing the next game which is something like a song taboo where you have to choose a genre and guess as many song titles for that genre within 3 minutes. the twist came when derek and liang secretly planned a X vs 1 challenge (another Running Man concept where members ganged up to trick a member/ guest without his/her knowing) and they actually planned it in the short time when i was away at the opposite side purchasing drinks from a vending machine! derek was the one performing the taboo and liang knew the titles beforehand, so the game started when i was back and when it came to the title 'today was a fairytale' by taylor swift, derek merely made a shooting star action and liangying just guessed it correctly upon seeing that action and i was like WHAT? why shooting star action means 'today'? like no link ya? but i wouldn't have thot of the X vs 1 concept because i thot along I'M the ONLY MASTERMIND of the day! daega! haha but the gullible me was too easy to trick all in the first place. i have to give them the credits for that.

ate bbq food after that and thank you maevey for preparing and sponsoring all the seafood! :D

played the next game after that, drawing relay, which is a mini mission game from Running Man itself, the episode which featured TVXQ. our drawings were horrible terrible vegetable! and to think i thot the celebs' were the worst when i was watching the episode! but that game really ended the night well cos it created so much laughter due to our ridiculous drawings! :DDD

lastly, what's a birthday celebration without a birthday cake? bought a 4-inch cake for liang and derek from Icing Room at Tampines One and decorated it (i really think it's not bad lor! but alas, the fate of the cake...) and sang happy birthday song. and everyone was suddenly wary of each other after the birthday boy and girl did the first cut, and then derek asked, "nobody wants to eat it?" and joelin replied, "it's for yall two to eat wad." and i was like GG and about to say, "cannot say no, cos derek will.." and as expected, he grabbed a whole chunk of it using the wads of tissue paper (he had already gotten ready for that moment) and everyone started running away, with me and joelin heading for the girls' toilet. we finally came out when we saw everyone cleaning up and just as i was about to help liang clean up the cake on the floor, she attacked me with the cream damned! i thot i was safe!

but oh well we all had major fun so who cares!

a night to remember much. (:

p/s: and it's after this episode that i could really see who are the ones that are a part of us. and that you can really count on them to be there for you when you need them to. and that's the true meaning of friendship.
