i wanted to blog about this just now but forgot so i think i better type now in case i forgot.

you know these days,

i cant sit on the bus or mrt properly without feeling guilty.

like when i sit down, then the next stop an aunty or uncle older than me comes up and does not have a seat, i'll feel like i need to give my seat to him or her.

but im too shy to tap the person and it's hard to come into eye-contact with that person. and then i end up feeling uneasy there. and also, it's kinda paiseh if the person rejects your offer. like you know, what if the person has a tough character and adopts the thinking, "so what, you think im old or weak or something?" or "i dont need your seat at all." then omg.

scary. museobda~

hahas these days i like to insert korean everywhere.

so anyway, as i was saying, it's like you need to fulfil some criteria to 'earn' the seat.

so just now i was on the mrt (outram park), with a heavy bag, carring like 3 plastic bags. then i was like yay finally got seat!

so i was like walking towards it when this uncle (in 30s i guess) started walking towards the seat as well when he saw that i was doing the same as well, and stopped.

then i was like sighing in my mind and retreated to where i was standing.

then i started thinking to myself but hey! he's a healthy man. and im a LADY. he's only holding one freaking light envelope! and im holding so many heavy stuff! and moreover im alighting at pasir ris.

shouldnt i get the seat? why can't he be more of a gentleman??

but then i realised, it doesnt matter, let him have it.

and then guess what, there was a free seat a few stops after that. after waiting for seconds, seeing that no one went to the seat, i sat down on it happily. god bless!

until an old indian man came in.

i think the posters on the trains and buses can really pressure one to be more civic-minded but at a same time, it can create guilt.

because the whole time on the train i was trying to get his attention to see if he wants my seat but he didnt see me. and i felt so uneasy that i cant relax in my seat.

and it just angers me when others arent doing a thing to help.

okay i dont know what to write alr. i suck at delivering a message but really, i think this is a singaporean culture lor.
