scrabble competition

scrabble competition was alright yesterday i guess. it was at downtown east d marquee. and u know what? i really miss scrabbling like seriously. in fact, i've never understand why mr surin would close the club last time when we were winning the trophies oh so frequently.

anyway, each had two games yesterday and bcos it's in a team of 3 format, it means that the whole team has 6 games. and to make it to top 10, chances are that the team has to win at least 4 games.

and when we first saw Scrabble's Associations members, we were like sian diao for they are REALLY the pros. the a category pros. me? i dont really have a cat. if so, i should only be in C bah. see the difference?

first round, we were lucky to get amateurs. me and pinyi won our first games but liang lost in hers. that made us the winner team with two games. and i had damn good tile luck too. had 2 bingos: 'RESTING' and 'KITTENS'. hehes, and i won by like 140 points. :D

so then for second round, it was drawing lots where u will vs another winner team, and me, having good tile luck yesterday, volunteered to draw for our team and i got 08.

such a nice number right? accompanied with a very nice team too.

THE A CAT PROS.

we were like okay, can pack up go home le.

and it was like one of the toughest games i've been in. initially was like very calm. but soon i kept drawing the sucky tiles, and furthermore dio stressed by 2 'S' in my rack and so went into a panicky state for she was like catching up too. only managed to come up with the bingo 'BLASTER' and was quickly caught up by her 'SUEINGS'.

so i lost. by 124 points. pinyi won his game though. i was like wow.

yaozhong's team got in top ten. they won the consolation prize. this disney electronic uno thing + a cool-looking scrabble scrambler i think.

as for my team, we got the participating prize. with each person getting 1 ticket to wild wild wet or escape theme park and 2 tickets to the cadbury ferris wheel at e hub. who will sit that like seriously? think i'll give it to my cousin so that she can bring her son and daughter (MY DARLING JOVAN AND JENELL!) to the ferris wheel.

so all in all it was fun luh i guess. in fact, me and liangying will be going for the next competition at bishan cc on 19 july. this time it's for c division ppl like me so it will be alright i guess. but we were like sian when we realised that only the two of us are going. somemore we handed in the forms alr. thot that the others wouldbe joining too.

oh well. shall make the best out of it and mug the lists again. (:
