fast, not starve.

I SURVIVED THE 30 HOUR FAMINE CAMP!

muahahahaaas!

and i want to fast more! take note: fast, not starve.

cant rmb what to type. waited for nearly 1 hour to get my hands on blogger last night but stupid internet connection refused to work. see lah! now i cant rmb what to type.

camp was not so bad lah. during the first day of the camp, i worked in a worksite, did prostitution, went to the dumping grounds and did tailoring.

hahas. dont get me wrong. like SOMEONE did.

worksite: carry the chairs from one indoor (INDOOR!) basketball court to tennis court.
prostitution: touch the tree for 5 mins and be drawn on the face shapes using the red lipstick
dumping ground: an area with newspapers knee high where u have to search for stuff like bottle caps
tailor: sew buttons on to the shirt

oh. and my family (SRI LANKA - MENON) had to built shelter using whatever scrapes like cardboards pieces we could find to built a shelter above our heads under the hot sun at the slums (tennis court).

and did i mention that throughout the camp we couldnt bathe as there was no showering points? poverty stimulations u see.

btw. my campsite was at ACS (barker road) and the school is damn pretty lah! INDOOR basketball court leh! INDOOR LEH! all the spiral spiral staircases.. the english english red brick walls.. the spacious spacious campus.. THE SWIMMING POOL!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

the whole place just look like one of those colleges or high schools u see in england lah. or similar to lah, at least.

what to do, the school rich mah. with all the rich kids there.

who cares huh?

...

the whole camp was kind of inspiring and meaningful lah but i wished it could be better and more packed. there were a lot of times where we just sit there and wait and wait. but was not as fun as i thot it was bcos my group was not that bonded and enthu and fun.

PARTICULARY THOSE 2 HCI GUYS.

high-iq-low-eq ppl are not my type of ppl.

in fact, 3 quarter of my group was made up of HCI ppl. but the rest are pretty nice lah. (:

oh well.

there was this mass Q & A session conducted with these 2 cambodian (i think) children and they are like damn cute pls.

but they have to suffer from HIV/AIDS at such a young age. my heart really goes out to them lah. it's like the disease force them to have to be so mature and sensible and they are only 8 and 13. compared to some of us (including me) who are alr 17 and are still so immature and spoilt.

the one at 13 (i dont think i cant reveal the names) aspires to be educated and wants to educate those who hate people with HIV/AIDS.

such a noble aspiration right?

and most of us, who has the good life and opportunity to receive high education, can study but dont want to study.

feels damn ashamed lah. so for this june, im using them as motivation. (:

second day went tampines to collect newspapers (YES, AGAIN but i dont mind) and then the whole camp ended with a concert by a-mei (worldvision's ambassador) and jack & rai (and i really like this song of theirs call the falala song) and some unknown dancers.

and yup. so that's that.

met up with my clique on prissy's birthday, except the birthday girl herself couldnt make it. so we just had a casual dinner at pastamania ourselves.

and boy, how i miss those girls. ):

thank god zhilin was with me at the camp or i'll be bored to death. we slept beside each other and chatted for a lil while till we are like kind of like drifting into sleep. and we really missed a lot of things back in hai sing.

and u have to admit it, friendships forged in jcs just cant be as strong.

and i miss my clique. A LOT.

so many things that i want to bring back.
